“Leave it There”

2016

The artist takes moulds of the holes on the facade of a house in Suriçi and transforms the holes into records.  The moulds then are applied onto the wall in the exhibition space as they were originally on the facades. The sounds of the emergence of the holes are in relation with their sources in forms that are not directly identifiable and accompany the moulds through small speakers. They build a spatial relationship with the viewer through inviting them to move closer and listen.

“Leave it There” , which is centered around the relationships between objects and sounds and the relationships among objects themselves, focuses on the possible meanings of describing the accumulated and concealed traces of holes and the making permanent of the hole as documents of the difficult to address aspects of today’s history.
